Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Welcome to Delhi! Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by our representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the new surroundings. In the evening, explore the local markets and savor some delicious street food.

 

Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing

Embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Delhi's historical landmarks. Visit the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, and Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. Explore the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk and visit the majestic Red Fort. In the evening, head to Akshardham Temple for a beautiful light and sound show.

 

Day 3: Delhi to Varanasi

Board a flight from Delhi to Varanasi, one of the holiest cities for Buddhists and Hindus alike. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony on the ghats of River Ganges.

 

Day 4: Varanasi Sightseeing

Start your day with an early morning boat ride on the Ganges River to witness the spiritual rituals and activities along the ghats. Visit Sarnath, the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Explore the Dhamek Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, and the Sarnath Museum.

 

Day 5: Varanasi to Bodh Gaya

Travel by road from Varanasi to Bodh Gaya, the place where Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. Check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, exploring the quaint town.

 

Day 6: Bodh Gaya Sightseeing

Visit the Mahabodhi Temple Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the Bodhi Tree stands. Explore the temple and other sacred sites in the complex. Visit the Great Buddha Statue and various monasteries built by different Buddhist countries.

 

Day 7: Bodh Gaya to Rajgir & Nalanda

Leave for Rajgir, an ancient city closely associated with Buddha and his teachings. Explore the Venu Vana, Griddhakuta Hill, and the Japanese Peace Pagoda. Later, drive to Nalanda to visit the ancient Nalanda University ruins, an important center of learning in ancient India.

 

Day 8: Nalanda to Vaishali & Kushinagar

Proceed to Vaishali, an ancient city with significant Buddhist history. Visit the Ashokan Pillar, Buddha Stupa-I, and the archaeological museum. Continue your journey to Kushinagar, the place where Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. Check into your hotel and relax.

 

Day 9: Kushinagar Sightseeing

Explore the major sites in Kushinagar, including the Mahaparinirvana Temple, which houses a reclining Buddha statue. Visit the Mathakaut Temple and the Ramabhar Stupa, where Buddha's cremation took place.

 

Day 10: Kushinagar to Lumbini & back to Delhi

Cross the border into Nepal and head to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Visit the Maya Devi Temple, the sacred garden, and the Ashoka Pillar. Afterward, return to Delhi by flight and check into your hotel.

 

Day 11: Delhi Departure

On your final day, explore any remaining sites or indulge in some last-minute shopping in Delhi. Later, our representative will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight, concluding this enriching Buddhist circuit journey.
