10 Days Uttarakhand Tour Itinerary

 

Day 01: Drive from Delhi to Almora

On arrival at the Delhi airport; meet our tour representative who will assist you to transfer to Almora by road. Almora is a charming hill station on a 6kms horse saddle-shaped ridge mountain. It affords breathtaking views of the snowy summits of the Himalayas and is a good place for a beautiful holiday. Upon arrival in the evening, you get transferred into the hotel.

 

 

 

Day 02: Almora Sightseeing

After breakfast, get ready for a full day sightseeing tour of Almora. Almora offers a nature lover to mesmerized snowcapped mountain peaks of Nanda Devi, and religious-minded people to spend some quiet time at the Chitai temple. Near the top of the town is a group of old stone temples. The main temple is dedicated to Nanda Devi, who is the goddess of the area’s highest mountain. Almora’s Katarmal Sun temple is an 800-year-old temple and is popular for its unique architecture, artistically cut stone and beautifully carved pillars.

From Bright End Corner, one can have the most spectacular sunsets and sunrise over the hills. Kalimath temple is surrounded by the peaks of Kedarnath, providing a lovely view of the Himalayan Peaks. Another major attraction is the Kasar Devi Temple, which offers a serene spot to visit with great views of the Himalayas. It is a worth-visiting place and is surrounded by thick green cedar, oak, pine, and rhododendron trees. Overnight stay in Almora.

 

Day 03: Almora – Binsar - Almora

After early morning breakfast, proceed towards Binsar. Binsar is a universal destination and it can be visited any time of the year. Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful, quiet, and wild Himalayan destination surrounded by abundant garlands of alpine flora, ferns, hanging moss, and many species of wildflowers, tourist can feel close to heaven. There are more than 200 bird species in the sanctuary, including Forktail, Blackbirds, Laughing Thrush, Kalij Pheasant, Parakeets, and Monal.

Zero Point is the highest point in Binsar situated inside the Forest reserve. You can reach the spot by trekking 1 km to the zero point. The trek is easy and adventurous. From this point, one gets a wide-angle view of the majestic Himalayas showing off its great peaks like Nanda Devi peak, Trishul, Nandakhot, Panchchuli, etc. Bineshwar Mahadev Temple was built during the prosperous reign of King Kalyan Chand and the presiding deity is Lord Shiva. It is convenient to visit it on the way to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Post sightseeing in Binsar, return back to Almora for an overnight stay.

 

 

Day 04: Almora – Bageshwar – Almora

Bageshwar is situated at the confluence of rivers Saryu, Gomti, and Bhagirathi, also revered as the pious land associated with Lord Sadashiva. There are a group of temples dedicated to various Hindu deities. The main Baijnath temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated on the left bank of the Gomti river. Bageshwar has a cluster of temples. The main shrines among them are the Bhairav temple, Dattatrey Maharaj, Ganga Mai temple, Hanuman temple, Chandika Temple, and the Vaneshwar temple.

In the evening, back to Almora for an overnight stay.

 

 

Day 05: Almora – Ranikhet

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for Ranikhet by road. On reaching Ranikhet, get transferred to the hotel and complete your check-in formalities. Ranikhet literally means ‘the queen’s fields’ and is just like heaven on earth. The quiet and salubrious climate, balmy breeze, captivating and magnificent Himalayan view, and soothing and pollution-free greenery of thick forests of deodar and pine trees in the foreground and an unending range of the Himalayas in the background. In the evening, explore the tourist places of Ranikhet on your own. Stay overnight in the hotel.

 

 

Day 06: Ranikhet

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day tour of Ranikhet. Ranikhet has a number of worth visiting temples such as Ram Mandir, Hairakhan Temple, Jhula Devi Temple, Kalika Devi temple, and Mankameshwar temple. Chaubatia Garden is famous for its enchanting view of the Himalayas and its fruit-laden orchards of apples, plums, figs, mulberries, strawberries, blackberries apricots, and peaches. Chaubatia is at its full bloom between April and May, a good time to walk along the path that runs the length of the orchard.

Another major spot is Bhalu Dam, which is a beautiful picnic spot with artificial lakes which is popular for fishing. Overnight stay in the hotel.

 

Day 07: Ranikhet – Kausani

Post breakfast in the morning hit the road for Kausani. On reaching, check in the hotel for your stay. Kausani is a famous hill resort for those who seek to escape from the hustle and bustle of big cities and want to spend a peaceful holiday in the lap of nature. From here one can see a range of peaks, including Neelkantha, Nandaghunti, Trishul, Nanda Kot, Nanda Devi, and the majestic Panchchuli peaks. Overnight stay in the hotel.

 

 

Day 08: Kausani tour

The wide expanse of the famous Katyur valley lies in front as you wake up to experience the Kausani sunrise, the reflection of the golden rays of the rising & setting sun on the 350 km stretch of the glittering peaks is enchanting. Start your Kausani tour from the Geeta Anashakti Ashram where Mahatama Gandhi spent 12 days in 1929, inspired by the scenic grandeur of this richly gifted spot named it the ‘Switzerland of India’. Another major attraction is Sumitranadan Pant Art Gallery which is the birthplace of the Hindi poet laureate Sumitra Nandan Pant. The museum is, indeed, an interesting place for literature lovers, where they can enjoy the beauty of literature amidst beautiful surroundings. Now take a stroll through the aromatic tea gardens and refresh your body and mind. Also do not forget to make a visit to Tea Factory.

Rudradhari temple is one of the most fascinating places in the Kumaon region. The major attraction is its rock which looks like God Shiva and its waterfall. You will also visit lush tea gardens, where you can take a walk and relish the fresh aroma of tea. A luxurious hilltop amidst a thick pine forest, with a commanding view of Someshwar valley on one side and Garur and Baijnath Katyuri valley on the other; Kausani is surely the best location for nature-lovers. Day 9: Kausani – Delhi Departure
